I got to the event around 11:30 and spent the first hour or so shopping.

My first stop was at this table. I bought a green stone wrapped in gold wire and threaded on leather cording. Patrick and his girlfriend, Carla (I think), were extremely friendly and made me feel very welcome.

The small table on the left belonged to Sir Guillaume who was selling his excellent book of stories and humor of the SCA. I, of course, bought a copy.

This wonderful lady had a booth with the most lovely floor-length cloaks. I would have gotten one, even though my budget really couldn't handle it, but she didn't have one in green in my size. I bought a snood, instead. Much more affordable!

What would a medieval event be without trumpeters. (or whatever)

I took a dozen pictures of court to get one or two good ones. The king (or queen) is chosen by right of combat every six months and his lady (or her knight) reigns with him/her until the next tournament. The queen's guard, James, was fun to watch. You'll see him on page 2, in a celery duel.

One of many court ceremonies. I have to confess that I didn't understand most of what went on, but it was fun to watch.
