Penny Arcade Attraction on Main Street at Disneyland; began July 17, 1955. Themed to Main Street's era, the arcade features antique Mutoscopes and Cail-O-Scopes, along with more modern video games.

Also on Main Street in the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World. The latter was open from October 1, 1971, until March 19, 1995, when it closed to become part of the Main Street Athletic Company.

I'm not very interested in modern arcades, but I love the penny arcade. I like the electric machine that gives you an ever increasing shock til you wimp out or it maxes out. (I've never wimped out ::smug grin::) I like the old fashioned machines. I like thinking about the people who played with them when they were new, and how they must have been amazed by the technology. It reminds me of the first video game I ever played. We were living in Germany at the time, and the whole family was enthralled by this very primitive game in a German cafe. As far as I can recall, the game consisted of moving a trampoline back and forth to catch falling clowns. Times have certainly changed, haven't they? There is the basis for my fascination, times change, but people don't. ~~Becky
