Fantasyland One of the original lands of Disneyland, and called by Walt Disney the happiest land of all. The attractions are based on the classic Disney animated tales, so they evoke pleasant memories in the minds of many a guest. Fantasyland was built to look somewhat like a medieval fair, with banners and attractions. The Snow White, Peter Pan, and Mr. Toad attractions were the park's original "dark rides" where participants sat in a vehicle and were moved through black-light illuminated scenes telling the stories of the films. One enters Fantasyland over a drawbridge and through Sleeping Beauty Castle. The attractions are seemingly in the Castle's courtyard. In the center is the majestic King Arthur Carrousel.

A totally new Fantasyland opened at Disneyland on May 25, 1983. The attractions were all completely remodeled, with facades now themed to the locale and era of the films. Thus, the Mr. Toad attraction is now in Toad Hall, as opposed to a medieval cirucs tent. There are Fantasyland areas in all four of the Disney parks.

When I was young, we visited Disneyland and I got separated from my family. I stumbled upon the Snow White wishing well. I was fascinated by the statues, the singing, everything. I tried to take my family back to see it, but my sense of direction was really poor back then. I couldn't find it again, and never saw it again until I went back as an adult. To this day it's one of my favorite spots in Disneyland. ~~Becky
